Cáceres, World Heritage Site:
Named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986, it offers one of the most impressive historical monuments in all of Europe. In addition, it is one of the stages in the Vía de la Plata trail, a historic Roman road.
The historic quarter is made up of a complete medieval city, perfectly conserved throughout the centuries. Its cobbled streets and lordly palaces encircle the visitor in a setting filled with history that frequently serves as a backdrop for festivals as well as theatrical and musical shows.
